Fashion Therapy Apparel's story began in the summer of 2015 when Jessica Webb, a licensed Psychotherapist, was gifted an old, used sewing machine and encouraged by her client, a fashion design school student to give sewing a try. It was then that Jessica began teaching herself how to sew.
Over the years, making garments for herself, while refusing to sew for others, Jessica found herself pressured to design and sew her eldest daughter’s prom dress; a request she couldn't refuse. The confidence her daughter had in her ability to produce the dress of her dreams, gave Jessica the courage she needed to take her fashion design skills to the next level.
Being completely self-taught in pattern drafting, draping, sewing, sketching and designing, has allowed Jessica to hone these skills which has proven to be exhilarating, challenging and a humbling blessing.
.
Creating stylish, timeless, and unique sewing patterns for the sewing community is where Fashion Therapy Apparel was initially headed, but developing sewing patterns, an online fashion boutique, and select commissions are now what's in store. Fashion Therapy Apparel is ready to heal the world with style, and Fashion Therapy!
